It comes with great excitement to reveal the contemporary and chic Jockey Gateway store make-over.  In following the new global retail trend, the Jockey Gateway store has undergone a facelift and this Friday, 27 November, it unveiled its new innovative design to shoppers.

Jockey opened its first store in Gateway in 2001 and, over the years, has become known for stocking the latest and best of the Jockey brand. The 2015 rebrand symbolizes that the Jockey brand is keeping up-to-date with the latest trends in order to reveal its vibrant and elegantly sexy garments in-store. To celebrate, shoppers will be sharing the day with Jockey brand ambassador and Springbok rugby star, Pat Lambie, who will be ringing up sales for the afternoon.

“We are so thrilled about the opening of our new-look store. Jockey Gateway is our flagship store, and our new-look will be making way to our national stores within the near future,” says Jockey Marketing Associate, Garlai Combrinck.

“Jockey has embraced a more contemporary and sophisticated look, and the Jockey Gateway store gives shoppers the look and feel of exactly what our brand stands for,” explains Combrinck.

“For more than 130 years, Jockey has led the apparel industry by producing garments that connect with our spirit of confidence. We are focused on providing garments that are elegant, comfortably sexy and uniquely designed to give our shoppers the best of the best”.

The Jockey legacy is based on ingenuity, vitality and authenticity, celebrating progressive and independent thinking. As a world-class brand with over 120 stores world-wide, Jockey continues to inspire a renewed sense of individuality and freedom in modern men and women globally. “The re-design of the store is conceptualized to communicate this,” says Combrinck.

In 1951, the South African franchise for Jockey was awarded to Ninian & Lester and only two years later, the first Jockey range was launched in South Africa. “As one of the largest manufacturers of underwear in South Africa, we continuously strive to innovate and aspire to remain the brand people think of for quality and style”.

She ends, “We are confident that Jockey and Pat Lambie fans will love the new-look store, and that it will reflect the modernity of the Jockey brand”.
