The Miss Ballito Pageant is a fundraising initiative of the Rotary Club of KwaDukuza Zimbali which is one of 33,000 other clubs around the world, whose members volunteer their time and talents to serve their communities by addressing critical issues such as health, hunger, literacy, water and sanitation.
The Miss Ballito Pageant Committee chose not to comment earlier this week, to Caroline Ashworth’s personal remarks on her face book page. However, after recent postings over the last few days, we now felt it necessary to clarify our standing and loyalty to the Rotary Club of KwaDukuza Zimbali, our very supportive and amazing sponsors, the Miss Ballito 2012 winner and her two Princesses, and last but not least, all the amazing people involved with this pageant.
A few details to note:
- We disassociate ourselves from any personal comments or views of any person/s whatsoever.
- Caroline Ashworth was a finalist in the Miss Ballito 2012 Pageant and did not feature in the top three positions.
- The competition ended on the 24th August with the beautiful and caring Renalda Hoffman being chosen as the winner, who has since been the ambassador for both Rotary and the community.
- With tremendous hard work and effort, over R80 000 was raised during this pageant and distributed to some very deserving charities within our local community.
The MB team has worked tirelessly over the last two years and will be moving forward with determination and clear goals in 2013 to raise further funds to uplift the lives of those less fortunate within our community.
