DCCI and Garlicke & Bousfield Inc host fourth International Business Dialogue on “Tradeflows with Francophone Africa”.

On Tuesday 14th July Garlicke & Bousfield hosted the fourth Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry International Business Dialogue with a presentation by Francois Bietrix, the Export Development Manager of Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal on “Tradeflows with Francophone Africa”.

Francois has extensive experience in international trade operations, focusing on exports from South Africa to various African destinations with his previous positions of Trade and Industry Advisor at the Department of Trade & Industry and Director of International Trading Connection providing him with broad exposure to the export function.  His skills lie in the documentary and procedural functions that apply to the international movement of goods and he also has as a good functional knowledge of export incentives and manufacturing rebates applicable in South Africa.

His presentation outlined the twenty-three Francophone countries in Africa and focused on the flow of trade between South Africa and the top ten trading countries.  The top export and import markets and products in South Africa, and specifically KwaZulu-Natal, were discussed.
